following is an Airstream damage remediation project.
A soon-to-be client of mine hired a local contractor to help with this little Airstream that is landlocked in her backyard.
What they got was an interior that was badly scarred from a couple of metal scrapers working
overtime to remove the original paint.
So I traveled to the client's home, stayed with them for a week and began the task of repairing the damage.

landlocked in the backyard

This was the condition when I arrived: Terribly damaged with metal scrapers and then semi-polished. The owner actually wanted a burnished effect.

There were deep gouges in the entire surface of the entire interior.

grinding with 40 grit sandpaper

I began by using an orbital sander with 40 grit sandpaper. Do not try this at home!

Here I have progressed to finer sandpaper, eliminating most of the deep gouges.

~Many hours later and getting there~

This is what the client wanted-a smooth burnished or "brushed" appearance-Achieved with the orbital grinder and 400 grit sandpaper. I will return and complete the project mid- March.
